Shipboard life
We opted for both of the excursions on the first day, then we kind of tapered off. So far we have been transported by tuk-tuk, bus, xelois and cyclos. Barb and John have done more than we have and were once transported by oxcart. We’ve seen rural villages that are unbelievably poor. We watched a village cooking demonstration, visited traditional homes, observed Buddhist monks performing a blessing ceremony on the boat, visited the former residential village of the royal family, experienced a silk weaving community, and visited Phnom Penh. We saw the royal residence, the country’s crown jewels, visited a market or two, a Vietnamese temple, and a fish farm. Somewhere in between all that we squeezed in three spa treatments.
